ITU Faculty of Chemical Metallurgical Engineering

To be the 6th faculty established in the history of ITU, our faculty aims to make scientific and applied research in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, food and bioengineering fields by pursuing developments in the tomorrow’s key technologies and interdisciplinary engineering opportunities to become a center of advanced solutions in national and international levels.

Our Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Food Engineering undergraduate programs are accredited by ABET (EAC).

TÜBİTAK 2219 International Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program Supports

Our faculty members, Department of Chemical Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem ORAL, , Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Res. Asst. Dr. Sıddıka MERTDİNÇ ÜLKÜSEVEN, and Department of Food Engineering, Dr. Kadriye Nur KASAPOĞLU were awarded TÜBİTAK 2219 International Postdoctoral Research Fellowship with their projects.

Our faculty members from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem ORAL (Louisiana State University-USA), Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Res. Asst. Dr. Sıddıka MERTDİNÇ ÜLKÜSEVEN (Cambridge University - England), and Department of Food Engineering, Dr. Kadriye Nur KASAPOĞLU (Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV - Germany), have been awarded research scholarships to conduct joint research studies within the scope of the 2219 International Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program conducted by the TÜBİTAK Scientist Support Programs Directorate. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Oral will conduct research on her scientific project titled "Electrochemical Reduction of CO2 in Electrolytic Cells Designed for Hydrocarbon Production" at Louisiana State University, United States. Dr. Kadriye Nur Kasapoğlu will carry out R&D studies to make cocoa fruit waste usable by the food industry and to apply it in different products at the Fraunhofer IVV Institute Food Process Engineering Department,. Res. Asst. Dr. Mertdinç Ülküseven will conduct scientific activities at Cambridge University within the scope of her study titled “Operando Studies on the Reactivity of 2D Transition Metal Dichalcogenide and Oxy-Sulfur/Selenide Films”.
