ITU Faculty of Chemical Metallurgical Engineering

To be the 6th faculty established in the history of ITU, our faculty aims to make scientific and applied research in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, food and bioengineering fields by pursuing developments in the tomorrow’s key technologies and interdisciplinary engineering opportunities to become a center of advanced solutions in national and international levels.

Our Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Food Engineering undergraduate programs are accredited by ABET (EAC).

A New Era in Science and Engineering Communication at ITU: Innovative Education with the Learning Station Model

The second and third sessions of the "Science and Engineering Communications: Communicating Research Through News Stories" learning station training were held on January 27-28 2025 at the Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center under the auspices of the ITU Center for Excellence in Education (ITU MEM).

The research project "Heart Lung Machine Oxygenator Membrane Development and Coating Studies" carried out at ASELSAN Academy under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duygu Ağaoğulları, a faculty member of the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering of our Faculty, and the coordination of our doctoral student Mustafa Bellek, has received TOHUM Project Support.

Prof. Dr. Antonio Torres (Editor-in-Chief, CYTA- Journal of Food, Taylor & Francis) from the School of Engineering and Sciences Tecnologico de Monterrey-Mexico, with whom we have an international collaboration, gave a seminar titled "Background for an invitation to participate in collaborative research: Novel tools reducing waste, risks & quality losses of refrigerated foods" on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 10:30 in our Faculty's classroom D202.

The computer laboratory, library, reading and study area of our faculty were completely renovated within the scope of a detailed project. The opening ceremony of the area, which was put into the service of our students under the name of "Yıldız Eren Computer Laboratory and Study Area", took place on December 6, 2022.
