ITU Faculty of Chemical Metallurgical Engineering

To be the 6th faculty established in the history of ITU, our faculty aims to make scientific and applied research in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, food and bioengineering fields by pursuing developments in the tomorrow’s key technologies and interdisciplinary engineering opportunities to become a center of advanced solutions in national and international levels.

Our Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Food Engineering undergraduate programs are accredited by ABET (EAC).

Students of Food Eng. Dept. received the first prize in the R&D Project Competition

Reyyan Aygün and Yağmur Çolak, students of the Department of Food Engineering, received the first prize in the Ak Gıda R&D Project Competition.

Our students from Department of Food Engineering, Reyyan Aygün and Yağmur Çolak, won the first prize with their functional fermented product containing natural probiotics developed using whey in the Ak Gıda R&D Project Competition about functional fermented products, which was held for the second time in the category of Health & Wellness this year.

They aimed to offer taste and provide benefit to the consumer together with the  addition target of evaluating food waste by converting whey into fermented beverage in their products. They made an innovative packaging design for the product they developed within the scope of the project, also they created a brand name for their products using the advertising strategy and shot a commercial with their slogan.
