To be the 6th faculty established in the history of ITU, our faculty aims to make scientific and applied research in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, food and bioengineering fields by pursuing developments in the tomorrow’s key technologies and interdisciplinary engineering opportunities to become a center of advanced solutions in national and international levels.

Our Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Food Engineering undergraduate programs are accredited by ABET (EAC).

Research studies within the scope of the National Science Center (Poland) SONATA-16 Project

As a part of the National Science Center (Poland) SONATA-16 Project, Assist. Prof. Dr. Lukasz Maj from Polish Academy of Sciences Aleksander Krupkowski Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science will conduct experimental studies in the Mechanical Metallurgy Laboratories for 1 month.


Within the scope of the project named "Optimization of micro-arc oxidation process parameters aimed at incorporation of ceramic antibacterial additions into coating produced on the surface of commercially pure titanium", Assist Prof. Dr. Lukasz MAJ from the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Science of the Aleksander Krupkowski Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences will carry out experimental studies on biocompatible and antibacterial ceramic coatings of the surfaces of commercially pure titanium produced by hydrostatic extrusion technique at in Mechanical Metallurgy Laboratories.

Studies will continue under the direction of Prof. Dr. Hüseyin ÇİMENOĞLU and Prof. Dr. Murat BAYDOĞAN, with the support of Lecturer Dr. Faiz MUHAFFEL, Res. Assist. Doğukan ÇETİNER and Res. Assist. Mertcan KABA.
