ITU Faculty of Chemical Metallurgical Engineering

To be the 6th faculty established in the history of ITU, our faculty aims to make scientific and applied research in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, food and bioengineering fields by pursuing developments in the tomorrow’s key technologies and interdisciplinary engineering opportunities to become a center of advanced solutions in national and international levels.

Our Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Food Engineering undergraduate programs are accredited by ABET (EAC).

Our Food Engineering Department Faculty Members' Patent

The invention “Cold Active and Simultaneous Multiple Enzyme Production Method”, whose inventors include ITU Faculty of Chemical and Metallurgical, Department of Food Engineering faculty members Prof. Dr. Beraat Özçelik, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Funda Karbancıoğlu Güler and Ph.D. graduate of Food Engineering Program Dr. Ceren Daşkaya Dikmen, were granted a Patent with Examination by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.

The invention “Cold Active and Simultaneous Multiple Enzyme Production Method”, whose inventors include ITU Faculty of Chemical and Metallurgical, Department of Food Engineering faculty members Prof. Dr. Beraat Özçelik, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Funda Karbancıoğlu Güler and Ph.D. graduate of Food Engineering Program Dr. Ceren Daşkaya Dikmen, were granted a Patent with Examination by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.

The patent, which is the outcome of Ceren Daşkaya Dikmen’s PhD thesis, subject to application of the microbial origin cold active protease, amylase and pectinase multi-enzyme mixture in five different industrial areas including food, pharmaceuticals, chemistry, textile and environment. We congratulate our faculty members and wish them continued success.
