ITU Faculty of Chemical Metallurgical Engineering

To be the 6th faculty established in the history of ITU, our faculty aims to make scientific and applied research in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, food and bioengineering fields by pursuing developments in the tomorrow’s key technologies and interdisciplinary engineering opportunities to become a center of advanced solutions in national and international levels.

Our Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Food Engineering undergraduate programs are accredited by ABET (EAC).

Best Poster Award to Our Students

Our students from the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department received the best poster award in the “5th International Symposium on Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion” (mESC-IS ‘21) symposium.

Our students from the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department received the best poster award in the “5th International Symposium on Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion” (mESC-IS ‘21) symposium.

Our 4th-grade students Orhun Oğuz, Oytun Berkman, Yunus Emre Gül, Ahmet Suat Gürsoy, Emre Bayboğa completed their undergraduate design project under the supervision of our faculty members of the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Özgül Keleş and Prof. Dr. Sebahattin Gürmen. They received the best poster award with their poster titled "A Comparative Study on Recycling Methods for Lithium-Ion Batteries" at the "5th International Symposium on Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion (mESC-IS, https://mesc-is.org/awards/)" symposium held on September 14-17, 2021. We congratulate our faculty members and students and wish them continued success.
