Istanbul Technical University hosted a significant event in the field of battery technologies. In the workshop held on February 14, 2024, critical issues were addressed with the gathering of leading experts in the field.

The event, organized with the participation of our University's Rector, Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu, and Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Lütfiye Durak Ata, witnessed a high level of interest from our faculty members including the Dean of our Faculty, Prof. Dr. Sebahattin Gürmen, and faculty members from the Departments of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Chemical Engineering.

Within the scope of the workshop, critical issues in battery technologies were discussed from a broad perspective. Various topics were covered, ranging from critical raw materials in battery production to recycling technologies, battery management and safety, and risk analysis.

Furthermore, strategies were deliberated upon to strengthen our country's pioneering role in this field through the establishment of sustainable collaborations with different sectors, alongside discussions on next-generation batteries and components.

The workshop holds great importance in terms of participants coming together to evaluate the latest developments in the field, share their experiences, and determine strategies for the future.
