Department of Food Engineering, Faculty member Prof. Dr. Neşe Şahin Yeşilçubuk and her team’s project “AgriBioPack” was found eligible for support under PRIMA Program 2023 Section 2 call. As a researcher in the project group, Prof. Dr. Özgül Keleş, Assoc. Dr. Billur Deniz Karahan, Dr. Ayşe Saygün and Res. Ass. Hande Yenipazar. The project, with acronym AgribioPack, is titled " Valorizing Agrifood Residues for Bio-based Packaging Solutions". In addition to Italy, which is involved in the project as a coordinator, France, Spain, Croatia, Morocco and Slovenia are also involved as consortium partners.

PRIMA (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area) 

Program funds projects contributing to sustainable use of natural resources, economic growth and stability in the Mediterranean basin. PRIMA Program is supported by EU Horizon 2020. The PRIMA Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Barcelona, operating under this program.
