To be the 6th faculty established in the history of ITU, our faculty aims to make scientific and applied research in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, food and bioengineering fields by pursuing developments in the tomorrow’s key technologies and interdisciplinary engineering opportunities to become a center of advanced solutions in national and international levels.

Our Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Food Engineering undergraduate programs are accredited by ABET (EAC).

Prestigious Appointment from SCAR for Our Research Assistant

Chemical Engineering Depatrment Research Assistant Sena Altun has been elected as the Secretary of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion for the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) in December 2024.

Res. Assist. Sena Altun, a master's student in Chemical Engineering and a 2023 undergraduate alumna of the same department, has been elected as the Secretary of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion for the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) in December 2024.

Res. Assist. Sena Altun is conducting her master's research under the supervision of Prof. Elif Genceli Güner, a faculty member in the Department of Chemical Engineering. Her research is titled 'Utilizing Impurities Extracted from Antarctic Ice Cores in Chemical Process Applications.'
