To be the 6th faculty established in the history of ITU, our faculty aims to make scientific and applied research in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, food and bioengineering fields by pursuing developments in the tomorrow’s key technologies and interdisciplinary engineering opportunities to become a center of advanced solutions in national and international levels.

Our Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Food Engineering undergraduate programs are accredited by ABET (EAC).

Food Science and Technology of the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2024 Ranking

Our University has achieved a great success in Food Science and Technology in Shanghai Ranking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2024 by being ranked 151-200 globally, the 2nd among all Turkish universities.



Istanbul Technical University (ITU) continues to achieve successful results in academic rankings with the work of its faculty members and students with the aim of learning and achieving together. ITU ranked 2nd in Türkiye in Food Science and Technology according to the results of ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2024, which takes into account the success of universities in certain academic subjects and aims to highlight institutions with more expertise or success in those subjects. Research universities are ranked by taking into consideration criteria such as research capacity, research quality, international collaborations, number of projects, academic publications, patents, and collaborations with industry.
