To be the 6th faculty established in the history of ITU, our faculty aims to make scientific and applied research in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, food and bioengineering fields by pursuing developments in the tomorrow’s key technologies and interdisciplinary engineering opportunities to become a center of advanced solutions in national and international levels.

Our Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Food Engineering undergraduate programs are accredited by ABET (EAC).

"ITU Journal of Food Science and Technology", which covers food processing and engineering, food science, food safety and preservation, food biotechnology, physical, chemical and sensory properties of foods, started publishing with its first issue.

"ITU Journal of Food Science and Technology" is the publication of ITU Press. The journal is in the category of scientific and peer-reviewed journals published twice a year. The main objectives of the ITU Journal of Food Science and Technology are; to ensure that scientific outputs obtained in the field of food processing and engineering, food science, food safety and preservation, food biotechnology and physical, chemical and sensory properties of food are shared with relevant stakeholders, to contribute to the scientific and technological progress of the whole society, and to increase awareness on food-related issues.

The scope of the journal includes topics such as food chemistry, food technology, food microbiology, food engineering, biotechnology, nutrition, sensory analysis, food safety, aquaculture, food marketing, food packaging, food regulation, sustainability and waste valorization.
