To be the 6th faculty established in the history of ITU, our faculty aims to make scientific and applied research in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, food and bioengineering fields by pursuing developments in the tomorrow’s key technologies and interdisciplinary engineering opportunities to become a center of advanced solutions in national and international levels.

Our Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Food Engineering undergraduate programs are accredited by ABET (EAC).

Significant Success from Our Design Project Students

Within the scope of Design Project I and II completed in the academic year 2022-23, graduation work of students from our Faculty of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, has been published in the prestigious "Canadian Metallurgical Quarterly" journal, classified under the Q2 category.


Within the scope of Design Project I and II completed in the academic year 2022-23, graduation work of students from our Faculty of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, has been published in the prestigious "Canadian Metallurgical Quarterly" journal, classified under the Q2 category.

In this study, our students investigated ultrasound-assisted leaching as an alternative to conventional hydrometallurgical leaching processes, and with this application, promising results were obtained in the selective leaching of lithium from Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LFP) batteries with high efficiency.
