To be the 6th faculty established in the history of ITU, our faculty aims to make scientific and applied research in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, food and bioengineering fields by pursuing developments in the tomorrow’s key technologies and interdisciplinary engineering opportunities to become a center of advanced solutions in national and international levels.

Our Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Food Engineering undergraduate programs are accredited by ABET (EAC).

Future of Food Symposium was held as part of ITU 250th anniversary and 16th of October World Food Day. In the symposium organized by FAO-Türkiye represantation and ITU Department of Food Engineering, the current and future status of food, water and soil required for a sustainable life and possible solutions were discussed.

Experts on the subject presented risk of food and water scarcity, protection of soil, activities towards reduction of food loss and waste, sustainability studies in retail sector and legal dimension of right to food.
