To be the 6th faculty established in the history of ITU, our faculty aims to make scientific and applied research in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, food and bioengineering fields by pursuing developments in the tomorrow’s key technologies and interdisciplinary engineering opportunities to become a center of advanced solutions in national and international levels.

Our Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Food Engineering undergraduate programs are accredited by ABET (EAC).

The project of our faculty member, Prof. Dr. Ş. Birgül TANTEKİN-ERSOLMAZ, at the Chemical Engineering Department will be supported by TUBİTAK within the scope of the "1001 Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program."

Prof. Dr. Şerife Birgül TANTEKİN-ERSOLMAZ, our faculty member at the Chemical Engineering Department, received project support from TUBİTAK with her project numbered 222M060 and titled “Development of Polymer-Based Hollow Fiber Membranes with High-Performance Selective Layers Enabled by MXene Nanoplatelets for Producing Clean Hydrogen and Methane from Syngas” within the scope of the 1001 Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program. We congratulate our faculty member and her research group. We wish her continued success.
