To be the 6th faculty established in the history of ITU, our faculty aims to make scientific and applied research in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, food and bioengineering fields by pursuing developments in the tomorrow’s key technologies and interdisciplinary engineering opportunities to become a center of advanced solutions in national and international levels.

Our Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Food Engineering undergraduate programs are accredited by ABET (EAC).

2021 Best Thesis Award to Dr. Gülay ÖZKAN and Dr. Faiz MUHAFFEL

Dr. Faiz MUHAFFEL, who completed his PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hüseyin ÇİMENOĞLU in the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department and Dr. Gülay ÖZKAN, who completed her PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Esra ÇAPANOĞLU GÜVEN in the Food Engineering Department were awarded “Best Thesis Award 2021” through the decision of ITU Graduate School.

Dr. Faiz MUHAFFEL, who completed his PhD thesis titled “Novel Approaches for Protection of Light Metals Under Various Wear Conditions Via Micro Arc Oxidation Process” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hüseyin ÇİMENOĞLU in the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department and

Dr. Gülay ÖZKAN, who completed her PhD thesis titled “Effects of Novel Food Processing Techniques on Bioaccessibility and Transepithelial Transport of Cranberrybush Polyphenols” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Esra ÇAPANOĞLU GÜVEN in the Food Engineering Department were awarded “Best Thesis Award 2021” through the decision of ITU Graduate School.
