To be the 6th faculty established in the history of ITU, our faculty aims to make scientific and applied research in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, food and bioengineering fields by pursuing developments in the tomorrow’s key technologies and interdisciplinary engineering opportunities to become a center of advanced solutions in national and international levels.

Our Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Food Engineering undergraduate programs are accredited by ABET (EAC).

ITU ranked 142th in the world and first in Turkey according to QS World University Rankings 2022

Istanbul Technical University ranked 142th in “Engineering and Technology” category in QS World University Rankings 2022. Among Turkish universities, ITU ranked first in Engineering and Technology, Architecture, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Infrastructure, Mechanical Enginering, Aerospace Engineering, Environmental Science and Material Science.

The results of the QS World University Rankings 2022 have just been released. ITU has revealed an upward trend and ranked as 142th in “Engineering and Technology”. At the national level, ITU ranked first in the same area in Turkey.

According to the 2022 QS subject rankings, ITU was placed first among the Turkish universities in eight subject areas including Architecture, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Infrastructure, Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering, Environmental Science and Material Science.
