ITU Faculty of Chemical Metallurgical Engineering

To be the 6th faculty established in the history of ITU, our faculty aims to make scientific and applied research in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, food and bioengineering fields by pursuing developments in the tomorrow’s key technologies and interdisciplinary engineering opportunities to become a center of advanced solutions in national and international levels.

Our Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Food Engineering undergraduate programs are accredited by ABET (EAC).

Cooperation Visit for National Science Centre (Poland) SONATA-16 Project

As a part of the National Science Center (Poland) SONATA-16 Project, Assist. Prof. Dr. Lukasz Maj from Polish Academy of Sciences Aleksander Krupkowski Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science visited our Faculty within the scope of academic and scientific cooperation.

Assist Prof. Dr. Lukasz MAJ from the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Science of the Aleksander Krupkowski Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences visited our Deanery within the scope of the project named "Optimization of micro-arc oxidation process parameters aimed at incorporation of ceramic antibacterial additions into coating produced on the surface of commercially pure titanium".

Our Dean Prof. Dr. Sebahattin GÜRMEN, Deputy Deans Prof. Dr. Özgül KELEŞ and Assoc. Dr. H. Funda KARBANCIOĞLU GÜLER, and Lecturer Dr. Faiz MUHAFFEL attended the meeting and opinions were shared about possible collaborations on various research projects.

Within the scope of this visit, an agreement was reached on the planning of a Bilateral Cooperation Protocol between the Aleksander Krupkowski Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Faculty of Chemistry and Metallurgy.
