Gamze Neşe Özcan, a research assistant and PhD candidate in Chemical Enginnering Department, received the People’s Choice Award at the ITU 3MT (Three Minute Thesis) Competition with her presentation entitled “Exploring Psychrophilic Microorganisms for Advanced Chemical Processes and Industrial Biotechnology.”
The 3MT competition aims to enhance research communication skills by challenging participants to present their doctoral research to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes. Özcan’s presentation attracted significant interest from the audience and was selected for the People’s Choice Award through public voting.
This achievement highlights not only the quality and impact of the research conducted within our department but also the ability of our young researchers to communicate complex scientific concepts effectively to broader audiences. We congratulate Gamze Neşe Özcan on this valuable accomplishment and wish her continued success in her academic career.
We also extend our congratulations to her advisor, Prof. Dr. F. Elif Genceli Güner, and the research team for their contributions to this achievement.
